NJTA will hold a virtual public hearing on a plan to make improvements to the Garden State Parkway bridge over the Passaic River

Aug 25 2020

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority will hold a public hearing on plans to replace the superstructure of the Passaic River Bridge on the Garden State Parkway. The hearing will be held virtually at 6 p.m. on Sept. 9, 2020.  Members of the public are invited to participate by video or audio.

The eight-span bridge carries three lanes of northbound traffic and three lanes of southbound traffic on the Parkway over the Passaic River, US Route 46, and River Drive in Clifton and Elmwood Park.  The Turnpike Authority has proposed replacing and widening the superstructure.  The widened structures will provide three 12-foot lanes, a 12-foot right shoulder, and a five-foot left shoulder in each direction.  The project is designed to extend the life of the structure, improve safety, and minimize the duration of construction.

To participate in the hearing by video, visit this link: Contract No. P100.476 - EO172 Public Hearing.  You will be prompted to enter your first name and email address, and then click “Join Now.” (The event passcode will be automatically filled.)

To participate by audio only, call 1-408-418-9388 and enter meeting number 129 427 5216.

A recording of the hearing will be posted on the Authority’s website after its conclusion.
