Public Hearing Notice Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 6:00p.m.

Dec 04 2024

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

TAKE NOTICE that the County of Mercer (“County”) and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (“NJTA”) has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection proposing to divert 0.106 acres of Block 2732, Lot 3.01 in Hamilton Township in connection with the relocation of an existing access easement and driveway from NJTA-owned property onto County-owned Green Acres encumbered property. The relocation, which was needed by NJTA to complete the Interchange 6 to 9 Widening Project, will preserve access to property owned by the County and a neighboring private landowner (Block 2732, Lot 6). As compensation for the diversion, the County will dedicate as Green Acres encumbered open space more than double the land proposed for the diversion. The proposed replacement lands consist of 0.45 acres: (i) a 0.274 acre parcel adjacent to Block 2732, Lot 3.01 and Crosswicks-Hamilton Square Road, and (ii) a 0.176 acre parcel adjacent to Block 2732, Lot 3.01 and Block 2732, Lot 6, both in the Township of Hamilton.

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.11(e), the public hearing on the proposed diversion will be held at:

Hamilton Township Public Library
1 Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. Way
Hamilton, NJ 08619

on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

The proposed diversion is subject to approval by the NJDEP Commissioner and the State House Commission. The application submitted by the County and NJTA in support of this proposed diversion is available for review at the Hamilton Township municipal offices, the Hamilton Township Library, the Mercer County Planning Department office and the NJDEP Office of Transactions and Public Land Administration.

We encourage any interested parties to attend the hearing. Written comments on the proposed diversion are also welcomed and should be submitted to:
