Lanes to be closed for bridge repairs this weekend between Turnpike exits 9 and 10

Jun 24 2022

One of three northbound lanes on the outer roadway of the New Jersey Turnpike will be closed for bridge deck repairs from 6 p.m. Friday, June 24th, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 27th. During the overnight  hours on all three weekend days, two of the three northbound lanes will be closed.

The work to be done during this high-intensity construction cycle is part of a $172.7 million contract awarded by the Turnpike Authority to D'Annunzio & Sons Inc. in January for repairs to five bridges between mileposts 83 and 88, including the Basilone Memorial Bridge over the Raritan River.  Work under that contract began in March 2022 and is scheduled to continue until September 2025.

Drivers who are planning to travel in the vicinity of the work this weekend are encouraged to check traffic conditions first by calling 511 from a hands-free device or downloading the SafeTripNJ app. Live traffic camera views are available under the Travel Tools tab on this website.
