UPDATED ADVISORY: Weekend work on PA Turnpike near Delaware River Bridge postponed due to forecast

May 10 2018

UPDATE (5/11/2018): RAIN IN THE FORECAST HAS FORCED THE POSTPONEMENT OF THIS WORK.

Drivers who use the westbound Pearl Harbor Memorial Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike this weekend could experience delays due to a lane closure on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River Turnpike Bridge.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will close the right shoulder and right lane of westbound I-276 from 8 p.m. Friday, May 11th, through 6 a.m. Sunday, May 13th, to perform maintenance work on underground tolling equipment at a location just west of the bridge.  The left lane of the roadway will remain open, but westbound traffic could back up across the bridge and onto the Pearl Harbor Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike. Drivers should be alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic as they approach the bridge after exiting the New Jersey Turnpike at Interchange 6.

For real-time traffic conditions through the weekend, drivers should dial 511 from any telephone or download the SafeTripNJ smartphone app. Links to live camera views of traffic conditions on the roadway can be found under the Travel Tools tab at the top of this page.
