The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is hiring seasonal toll collectors and maintenance workers for various locations along the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. The pay rate is $12 an hour for toll collectors and $11 an hour for maintenance workers. Both positions are for 40 hours per week through the summer season.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and pass a medical exam, a drug screen, and a criminal background check. Candidates for the toll collector positions will also have to pass a basic math test.
Those who wish to apply should attend any of the nine hiring events scheduled for this month at the New Jersey Turnpike Authority headquarters in Woodbridge.
The dates and times of the hiring events are as follows:
April 7th, 14th or 21st (Hours: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
April 9th, 16th, or 23rd (Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
April 12th, 19th, and 26th (Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Applicants should bring a valid driver’s license, a Social Security card, and a canceled check or direct deposit form and should complete an application at www.njta.com/employment before attending a hiring event.
